| Serological methods and Kits for the diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)
|
| |
| Technical Description : |
| Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory joint disease causing articular cartilage and bone destruction. Definitive diagnosis of RA can be difficult: a negative result in anti-CCP antibody testing does not exclude RA. The invention relates to peptidylarginine deiminase (PAD4), a major autoantigen in RA, and, more specifically, to epitopes on PAD4 that specifically react with anti-PAD4 autoantibodies present in the sera of RA patients. |

| Potential applications : |
| The invention provides the identity of marker peptides that specifically react with RA associated autoantibodies. Methods of the present invention may be used for diagnosis of RA in patients. PAD4 may be attractive target for the identification of co |
